View across London from Vauxhall

One of a number of shots taken from high up in the Vauxhall area. This one looks north toward St Paul’s Cathedral and the Bankside power station (now the Tate Modern).

Noticeable is the lack of buildings taller than St. Paul’s.

The quality on this one isn’t too good, there is a lot of grain and some damage around the edge (I had to crop the image).

The Shell Centre in colour

The Shell Center, constructed in 1961 wishes the city a happy new year. The building was completed in 1961 so I would assume this would be perhaps 1962-3. It appears to be the oldest image I can find that was taken in colour.
